BPC-157 and TB-500 are the two peptides that dominate tissue-repair research, which is why they are so often studied and discussed together. Two 2026 animal studies looked at them separately.
BPC-157 and circulation after surgery
Researchers reported that in a rat adrenal-gland removal model, the stable pentadecapeptide BPC-157 counteracted the vascular and multi-organ failure that followed surgery, easing arrhythmias and abnormal pressures across several circulatory beds while activating collateral blood-flow pathways (Pharmaceuticals, May 2026).
The authors linked the effect to the nitric-oxide system, reporting raised expression of NOS and VEGF-A genes. This is a rat model, describing the compound's mechanisms in that setting.

TB-500 (thymosin beta-4) and kidney injury
In a mouse model of sepsis-associated acute kidney injury, researchers reported that thymosin beta-4 reduced kidney dysfunction and injury markers and lowered inflammatory and cell-death signals (Clinical Science, 2026). They attributed the effect to suppression of the MAPK pathway, with reduced activation of JNK, p38 and ERK signalling.
