Tirzepatide is a synthetic dual receptor agonist that acts on both the GLP-1 and GIP receptors, two of the gut-hormone pathways at the centre of metabolic research. It is one of the most actively studied peptides in the field, investigated in research models for its role in glucose regulation, appetite signalling and body-composition pathways.
